Rumer Has It

And these Spring campaigns are just rolling right along...

Badgley Mischka Spring/Summer 2011

When Rumer Willis, eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, was selected to be the new face of Badgley Mischka for their Spring/Summer 2011 campaign, I was concerned. Willis is no great beauty, especially when compared to previous spokespersons like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen (who aren't spectacular themselves but at least have a little star quality), and I wondered if she would be able to pull off the intense glamour of Badgley Mischka's design aesthetic.

Turns out I was right. As New York Magazine said, she is "a strange choice for the brand," and it reads in the pictures. While her body looks great in each of the dresses selected for the ads, her extremely oval-shaped (like... distractingly oval-shaped) face looks bored, flat, and not even recognizable as Rumer Willis under all that hair. Which kind of defeats the purpose of the campaign, doesn't it? They could have just used a regular model for all that. Fail.
