Friday was my first ever Fashion's Night Out! FNO is a worldwide fashion initiative sponsored by Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, where retailers all over the world participate in a fashion block party of sorts. The shops are open until midnight, with sales, raffles, deejays spinning music, food- and free booze, and a portion of the proceeds this year went to AIDS research. The best.
Waiting to see Rachel Zoe
I primarily went down to the FNO event in Soho, to try and see Rachel Zoe at the Piperlime pop-up store, but there were an exceptional amount of people there. Exceptional. I'm talking hundreds surging around the entrance, fifty more in a huge line, and fifty more actually inside.
There was no way I was getting in there (TEAR). Instead, I stood outside for about 20 minutes, where I saw some Project Runway contestants before continuing down Mercer street. It was a fashion mob out there.
Rag & Bone
Paige Premium Denim had a raffle for free jeans and also free wine (only if you brought your own cup, though- weird) as did the Ugg store. H&M was having a buy one, get one 50% sale, which I took full advantage of, picking up two shirts and a maxi dress.
Halle Berry was over at Rag & Bone posing for pictures, Mango had a full-on fashion show and Forever 21 was like a party, with a deejay and people breakdancing and grinding all over each other. Seriously. There was zero shopping going on in that place.
I wore my cheap and chic look: Target tunic, Old Navy cardigan and jeggings, and Jeffrey Campbell nude wedges. It was perfect for the chilly night, and managed to be comfortable even though I was pressing through the throng of people. I had a blast, shopped a lot, drank a little more, and ended the evening at Gonzalez y Gonzalez with margaritas. Fashion's Night OUT, indeed.
