The 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were held live at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California yesterday. The prestigious awards ceremony is the biggest night for television stars, honoring their work. It's also the biggest night in fashion, with television stars wowing on the red carpet in their finest evening wear.
Kerry Washington, breakout star of the hit show 'Scandal,' was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Although she didn't take home the award, she was a knockout in a Marchesa dress paired with an Edie Parker clutch, a Movado watch, and Fred Leighton jewelry.
Blue was a major color of the night, with tv host Zooey Deschanel, Padma Lakshmi, and tv host Rocsi Diaz appearing in a range from cobalt to ice blue. Another favorite was various shades of red, with 'Modern Family' star Sofia Vergara in a red hot Vera Wang gown and Carla Gugino in a sheer, curve-hugging dress by Georges Chakra. Rose Byrne, star of the successful show 'Damages,' also shone in a simple pink two-piece look featuring a crepe sleeveless wrap halter top and streamline skirt.
