I've got a bone to pick with you, Tyra Banks. Last month, there was an 'Ambush Makeover' episode of The Tyra Show that made waves on the blogosphere because it featured stylist B. Scott. (Who is B. Scott, anyway? Just looked like a man in a wig, to me; and not even a FLY man in a wig, like on 'RuPaul's Drag Race.' S/he also had some kind of rat around his shoulders. I'd think twice before I let somebody that looked like that 'ambush' me.)Anyways, one of the contestants that was made over had a whole Lady Gaga thing going on in her Before look. Now I

With this:

And I must say, I didn't hate it. The leggings fit better than whatever that is Katy Perry has on, and the blue with the zebra pattern was extremely flattering. The pop of the yellow shirt was nice, too. Now the blonde wig and extra accesories had to go, but, all in all, I'd have to say her look wasn't that bad.
In her After section, they stuck her in a puffy skirt AND blouse, both made out of some overly shiny, satin material- a definite fashion DON'T! She looked like an overworked Barbie. But what I liked least about this makeover was that they took a girl with a unique look and made her completely generic. She obviously wasn't afraid of color or prints, so why not play with that a little more? Get her less away from the obvious Lady Gaga influence, and into more wearable fashion. (But don't get me wrong. I love me some Lady Gaga. It's just nobody can pull off her look but her.) Rosa, a design major, had an eye for color and composition, which is more than I could say for the 'stylist' that gave her the makeover, who's located on the far right. That sloppy outfit was deemed fashionable enough to ambush unsuspecting women on the streets on New York City? Shame on you, Tyra!
Rosa's 'Before...' I love that hat!To read more about the show, click here.
