Designer Raf Simons shocked the fashion world when he quit as creative director of Jil Sanders at the end of February, and the rumor mill went into overdrive trying to decide where his next job would be (a favorite speculation names him the replacement for John Galliano at Christian Dior). His collections at Jil Sanders have garnered such critical praise as 'perfect,' and the beautiful neon and minimal looks he sent out over the past few seasons are still setting trends in the fashion world.

In the midst of all this controversy, the designer quietly revealed the Fall/Winter 2012 line for his personal collection during Milan Fashion Week last week. I think I might be in love with every piece. The colors are divine... bright ombre's and rainbow-colored solids are played masterfully off of dark separates to create truly dynamic and excting looks. And the standalone pieces were exceptional- think school uniforms on acid; all velvet jackets (a trend?), shiny windbreakers, and primary-colored knits with walking shorts.

This collection is just... obscenely good.
