This is a post for everyone who's over ordinary prints- if another floral or Native American inspired ikat seems like it might push you over the edge. From digital designs to pixelated graphics and graffiti swatches, artful patterns create a super-easy and unique look for this season.

Cool and chic in a badass kind of way, prints like these might seem daunting at first. For beginners playing around with the trend, just choose a single piece in a psychedelic pattern as an alternative to your summer florals or fall pieces. Layer them with solid colors, sweaters or cardigans, jeans, and vests... basics that allow the busy print to be the center of the look.

They can also be treated as a nuetral- seems crazy, but trust me on this one. Patterns can be mixed and matched, and when worn with similar colors, like they did at Proenza Schouler, vibrant graphic prints all over a shirt or pair of pants make a bold statement in the same way as a blood red lip. The only thing is, you have to have guts to make this kind of statement... but I know my readers have GUTS. So if you want to try your hand at a crazy print for the holidays, check out these Japanese Character Print Leggings, $16, this Abstract Zipper Front Skirt, $14, or this geometric Silk Shift Dress, $33 (all by Forever 21).

  1. If black off shoulder dress keeps women a sense of mystery. Then red dress long shows the neat and pure of a girl.
