Balmain completely ignored the bohemian influences of maxi skirts, oversized knits, and ethnic prints this September, choosing instead to stick to their punk aesthetic for New York Fashion Week 2010.
Slim, streamlined silhouettes were perfectly complimented by tough and edgy accents. There were polished metallic pants, studded leather jackets, and one immaculate pair of bejeweled shorts that could easily go from the beach to a banquet.
While staying true to Balmain's reputation for fitted, sparkly pieces, the line also managed to stay on trend with tucked in v-necks and utilitarian details. Every look was clean and minimally accessoried, and stayed within the same color palette. The separates could definitely be easily incorporated into the wardrobes of most women, and every girl can sass up an outfit with any one of these pieces.
Now, most people don't have the luxury of thousand dollar Balmain pieces, but you can get a similar look with this vest and jacket from Forever 21, Asos boots, or Urban Outfitters leggings- each item is under $100!
