Ok so I have no idea who this girl is (I swiped these pics from Vanessa Jackman) but I am naming her Thursday Style Icon for this week. It's my blog and I can do that.
'Street Style' is one of the most influential forces on the fashion industry, so it's not uncommon to hear of regular people getting asked to have their picture taken for some or another blog or website. Photographer Vanessa Jackman took these pictures during this month's New York Fashion Week, and, I must say, this girl is killing it.
She managed to successfully blend three major trends of this season: camel with the jacket, oversized items with the blouse, and leather with that impeccable saddle bag. But what could have turned into a costumey nod to the Old West is kept current by the futuristic, sheer white leggings (and while I'm pretty sure those aren't lace, they're close enough that she's almost got a fourth trend in there). She also put her own spin on trend by adding the ribbon as a necktie.
While not everyone could pull this look off, she manages it. And this is what fashion is about; mixing classic pieces and funky personal items with a twist. Doesn't she look like she's having fun?
