Alber Elbaz with models backstage at Lanvin
Remember this post about the numerous high-end designers collaborating with major retail chains? Well, H&M is at it again; starting November 20, they'll have a Lanvin line in stores!
Alber Elbaz, head designer for Lanvin, has stated that it's about 'H&M going luxury,' rather than 'Lanvin going public,' even though he also previously said that he would never do a mass-market collection. Elbaz claimed he found H&M's offer 'intriguing'.
I, for one, am ectstatic about this line! Alber Elbaz revitalized Lanvin since his appointment as artistic director in 2001, with simple, sculpted, and feminine looks meant to serve as a nod to the past.
I am super excited to see what he does with the established trendy aesthetic over at H&M. Pretty little dresses in interesting shapes, a staple at Lanvin, would definitely fit right in with the European retailer.
I mean really, what's not to love?
