The classic camel coat made a big comeback this fall as THE winter coat in the collections. Instead of the literal 'camel' hair coats of the past, however, this season we see them in lightweight wools and luxurious fabrics like cashmere. The lure of this coat is it's warm honey color, a nuetral that can go with just about anything in your closet.
A camel coat is more unique than a black or navy winter coat, and more glamourous than one brightly colored. And, like a white coat, it has a richness to it that classes up any outfit, even jeans.
Designers modernized the camel coat by playing with the shape. Chloe's was oversized and slouchy, like a poncho, while Dries van Noten's was buttonless and belted. Pete Pilotto's slim-cut version was by far my favorite, however, hitting mid-thigh and boasting a full, mutton sleeve.

Camel coats don't weigh down an outfit and are extremely versatile, complimenting both casual and professional looks. Every woman should invest in a quality nuetral like this, as its earthy tone makes it easy to accessorize.
Pair it with a polished LBD and wedges to dress it up, or jeans and flats to dress it down. And don't be afraid to play with color either; the sky is the limit on handbags, shoes, and other accessories with this look because of its nuetral tone.
A fantastic must have!
