Victorian Secret

I'm back! Savannah was amazing, but HOT. I'll be posting specific entries soon, but as of right now I've got weddings on the brain; specifically, my own! And after the madness of this weekend, I have deduced two things:

I'm getting married in the winter. And I want a Victorian dress.

Victorian dresses are seriously underrated these days, as everyone is all about strapless ball gowns and sweetheart necklines. But I think there's something classic yet unique about antique lace, long sleeves, and pearl buttons up to your chin. I've got lots of tattoos, so a lightweight, long-sleeved dress would be right for me in more ways than one.

The early Victorian wedding dress had a fitted bodice, small waist, and full skirt (over hoops and petticoats.) It was made of organdy, tulle, lace, gauze, silk, linen or cashmere. The veil was a fine gauze, sheer cotton or lace.

And I love that hat. So Gone With the Wind.
