Tribeca Film Festival... Nice Girl Seren

Another great weekend had come and gone... I crossed an event off of the list on Sunday when I finally made it to the TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL!

We saw Nice Guy Johnny, a movie directed by and also featuring Ed Burns (Saving Private Ryan, Entourage, 27 Dresses). It was about a guy with a fantastic-yet-horribly-not-fantastic-paying job that he loves, as a radio sportscaster. He is fast approaching his wedding and 25th birthday, both milestones that everyone around him expects will magically turn him into a 'grown-up' with a 'real job'- neither of which happen.

Ed Burns was incredible as Johnny's Uncle Terry, a boozing, using (yet somehow still strangely lovable) womanizer trying to lead him down the path of destruction on a holiday weekend in the Hamptons. Terry is 'kind of a scumbag' (his words), but he imparts on Johnny, someone genuinely nice to a fault, the lesson that if he isn't happy, how can he expect to make anyone else around him happy. Burns also came out at the end of the movie to give a little show and tell, which was a theater first for me (and I'm guessing a regular occurence at the festival).

It was hot, hot, HOT, that day, but cloudy and threatening to thunderstorm all day. So instead of going with a typical tee and shorts combo, which might get soaked and therefore, freezing, I went with a long-sleeved, lightweight button-up and cotton shorts. I rolled up the sleeves when it got sticky humid, and paired the whole thing with these little shoes that I've had for about a million years from Delia's (my Mom will recognize these!).

I don't own a pair of boat shoes but I actually wished I had a pair for this outfit... this pair from David Z's would have been perfecto.

Pics from the sushi place where we had lunch... and ME!

*Sidenote: Saturday the BFF went crazy went the camera, but I haven't received those pics yet, so stay tuned...
