The Coral Reef

Check out Charlotte's fiery pants on the set of Sex and the City 2

With East meets West fashion all the rage these days (SATC 2, anyone?), it's no surprise that coral is a blazing hot color this season. The vibrant, pretty color, traditionally used in Indian sari's, can be seen on everything from sundresses to fingernails.

Emporio Armani's Spring Summer 2010 collection featured one bright color after another, but bold coral cover-ups stood out among a predictable palette of turquoise, orange, and milder pinks. Coral is a punchy color for summer and especially the mildness of spring, which is usually represented by florals and pastels.

If head to toe, highlighter shades are a little too much for your sensibilities, you can take a cue from Karl Lagerfield over at Chanel. For his Spring/Summer 2010 Couture Collection, the models boasted Rouge Allure Lipstick in Genial. The light color is perfect for summer and golden, bronzed skin. Coral shades can also be worn on eyes and cheeks (though not all at once!) for a sun-kissed effect.

The lipstick alone is $30, so Armani and Chanel may not be in your budget. This trend is everywhere, however, so it's easy to find a style for you. For about the same price as the lipstick, you can get this BDG Cotton Button Down shirt from Urban Outfitters, for example.

Be sure to check out their Ecote Knotted Sundress as well... For $48, it's a steal!
